How does MX-Contact Licensing work?

MX-Contact is licensed on a per user basis. Each license is a “Named” user rather than a concurrent user license. The license is based on a User’s Outlook E-Mail address. A License Key is generated for each user based on:

  • their e-mail address,
  • the Edition (Personal, Professional, Workgroup, Corporate, Enteprise) used,
  • the Modules (Sales, Marketing and/or Support) required by that User, and
  • the expiry date set for that license (in the case of rental).

A user only needs a Module License if he or she will be adding or editing items in folders that are part of that module. All users can view the items in all folders (providing they have folder permissions to do so).

As mentioned above an MX-Contact License is tied to that user’s e-mail address. However, if a person leaves the company, the License Key may be “swopped out” at that no charge, i.e. a new License Key generated for the new person replacing the one that has left.

Note that all users need to have licenses for the same Edition, i.e. you cannot mix Workgroup and Corporate Licenses within one company.
