FAQS131: How do I create a new set of Public Folders from a PST?

To create a new set of Public Folders from a PST and activate this new set, do the following:

  1. Close Outlook and restart using the MX-Contact (New Settings) option from Start->Programs->MX-Contact.

  2. When the Folder Setup Wizard appears, choose the option Create a new set of MX-Contact Public Folders.( Note that this option will only appear if you are an MX-Contact Administrator, i.e. selected the Admin (not User) option when you installed MX-Contact. You also must have permissions to create Public Folders). On the dialog that appears select your source PST by clicking Browse next to "Select .PST file" and give the new set a different name under "Root Folder Name":

  3. Click Finish. The new set will be created and MX-Contact will automatically switch to this set.

  4. Run the MX-Verify Data Integrity Checker from Start->Programs->MX-Contact. Keep in mind this this may take several hours and it is best to run this after hours.
