| FAQS133: How do I transfer my MX-Contact Enterprise
Edition to another Server? |
If you have moved Exchange Servers you need to transfer
your MX-Contact Public Folders from the one Exchange Server to the
other. Do the following:
- Copy your MX-Contact Public Folders to a PST by following the
instructions in FAQS130.
- Create a new Outlook profile to connect to the new Exchange
Server.
- Open Outlook with MX-Contact disabled by using the Microsoft
Outlook (MX-Contact Disabled) option from Start->Programs->MX-Contact.
- Open the PST using File->Open->Outlook Data File.
- Right click on the MX-Contact folder and copy
it to the Public Folders by selecting Copy MX-Contact
to...
- Close Outlook.
- To transfer your SQL Database from one server to the other,
simply backup your SQL Server database using Enterprise Manager
for SQL Server 2000 or SQL Management Studio for SQL Server 2005,
and restore it again on the new SQL Server.
- Restart Outlook using the MX-Contact (New Settings)
option from Start->Programs->MX-Contact.
- When the Folder Setup Wizard appears, choose the option Select
an existing set of MX-Contact Folders. Navigate to the
MX-Contact folder under Public Folders\All
Public Folders on the new Exchange Server and click Next.
- Then select the new SQL Server and database when the Datbase
Login dialog appears.
- This will activate the new set of folders and database.
